LEGO Batman fans are in for a treat this year, as TT Games has officially confirmed that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will be revealed at The Game Awards 2025.
The announcement was made moments after a mysterious teaser teased LEGO Batman outside of the Peacock Theater, which appears to show the Caped Crusader “clocking in” for some additional security at the event.
With much attention already being focused on various highly-anticipated 2026 releases, this will put the Dark Knight back into the spotlight once again. As a matter of fact, the confirmation comes none too soon for many fans who have been dying to know what TT Games is going to reveal as their next major LEGO property.
A new take on LEGO Batman
Legacy of the Dark Knight looks to be a narrower entry than previous LEGO titles. Instead of a sprawling cast of hundreds, this title will concentrate the limelight on Batman and a small group of six central characters.
The Bat Family will be well represented, with Nightwing, Robin, and Batgirl all confirmed playable. Veteran Gotham figures like Jim Gordon, Catwoman, and even Talia al Ghul make the cut.
But the game won’t be lacking in character. Promising one of the most ambitious takes on Gotham City yet for a LEGO game, TT Games is mixing influences from the comics, animated series, movies, and recent runs to craft an open world rich with different takes on the Dark Knight’s past. There are even plans to introduce multiple varieties of Batmobile designs and character skins that reference several different Batman eras.
Platforms and release window
The PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC versions of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight have been confirmed, along with a Nintendo Switch 2 version.
The title will be released at some point in 2026, but a specific date has yet to be announced. But with The Game Awards 2025 listed as the game’s current official reveal, fans won’t have to wait long to find out more.
It could be a cinematic trailer, a gameplay showcase, or even an unexpected reveal of the release window, but the upcoming show is sure to be the biggest reveal yet in the new era of LEGO Batman.
