Bungie announced that Destiny 2 players can now use all the standard mods in their armour, regardless of whether they unlocked them up to this point.
Now, keep in mind that there are a few mods that are exceptions to the rule - the ones that are not considered "standard". These include the mods unlocked through raids and seasonal artefacts.
The reason for this is that build crafting is getting major changes in Lightfall, the new expansion that is set to release on February 28, 2023.
Additionally, focusing for Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, Crucible and Gambit weapons will cost 25 Legendary Shards while Adept weapon focusing will go down to 50.
GM Nightfalls will release on the next weekly reset, on January 17, and the game mode should become more approachable for everyone while remaining challenging.
It remains to be seen how this will be handled but it probably means lower Power requirements while all the bullet sponges will still be able to one-shot the Guardians.
In any case, the changes will likely be appreciated by the community as the hype for the new expansion grows further.
