Actor Simon Pegg will play the infamous Headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black in WB Games' upcoming Harry Potter RPG Hogwarts Legacy.
Warner Bros. Games have today revealed that English actor Simon Pegg will be portraying Headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black in the highly anticipated RPG Hogwarts Legacy. The dev team revealed the news with an exclusive trailer in which Pegg explains his role and Phineas' personality while also giving us a snippet of his voice acting.
The trailer also includes a short Q and A session, where Pegg is asked about Phineas' background and details from Harry Potter books. You can check out the video above.
As for Phineas' role in the game, Pegg says his character is somewhat "a help and a hindrance" and will try to "scupper the efforts of the players" as they try to progress through the story. "Don't be like Phineas Nigellus Black, he is not someone to aspire to," Pegg says.
Harry Potter fans will surely remember Phineas from books and films since he can be spotted as a portrait in Dumbledor's office. However, since Hogwarts Legacy is set in the 1800s, before the original Harry Potter series, Phineas is actually the headmaster of Hogwarts.
All in all, it's certainly great that WB Games are trying to introduce fans to the story and characters in Hogwarts Legacy so soon but without spoiling much. And of course, it's exciting that the team managed to get such talented people on board for this highly anticipated release.
Hogwarts Legacy is hitting the shelves on February 10, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
