Highly anticipated action adventure Crimson Desert could finally be ready for release in Q1 2025, after more than five years since its official reveal. The release date info comes from a reliable Asian leaker Lunatic Ignus on social media X, who also stated that Pearl Abyss will finally ramp up the marketing for the game after Gamescom this summer.
"Crimson Desert is almost finished, the marketing will start this Summer with a brand new demo at Gamescom 2024. Unfortunately, it will not release this year, but expect it to launch in Q1 2025," the leaker said.
Some of this information was already confirmed by Pearl Abyss earlier this week during the earnings report. The Korean publisher stated that they will have a playable demo at Gamescom, which will kick off their big marketing campaign for the game.
The publisher did not provide new details on the release date, though, so the only info we have is that the game is coming sometime in 2025, which is old info from several months ago.
The leaker did not provide additional details on the game so that's pretty much everything we know when it comes to Crimson Desert release date. It's highly likely that the game will be part of Gamescom's Opening Night Live show, where we could finally get a release date and first details on specific platforms.
Crimson Desert has been confirmed for PC and console but we had some rumblings recently that the game could be exclusive to PlayStation 5. Even Pearl Abyss themselves said that they are talking to various companies at the moment for potential partnerships. "So currently we are also ongoing in terms of final discussions and agreements [with] partner companies in terms of finalizing contracts," they said in one of the recent earnings reports.
But until we get more official information from Pearl Abyss themselves, including the release date and platforms, take the leaked information with a grain of salt just like any other rumour or unconfirmed report.
