Developer Pearl Abyss has released more technical specifications about Crimson Desert‘s PC version. Detailed within the studio’s official FAQ page, the game will feature upscaling tech from both AMD and NVIDIA.
This latest update comes hot off the studio confirming when players can pre-load the game and when it releases worldwide.
Advanced Upscaling Technologies on PC
Pearl Abyss states that Crimson Desert on PC will support the following upscaling technologies:
- AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3
- AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 4
- NVIDIA DLSS 4
- NVIDIA DLSS 4.5
The game will also support:
- FSR Ray Regeneration
- DLSS Ray Reconstruction
Crimson Desert‘s console versions will make use of FSR 3, with PS5 Pro players receiving a next-gen PSSR upscaling tech. As for Mac users, MetalFX Upscaler and Frame Generation will be available alongside a Denoiser feature.
Internet Required for Initial Setup
Although Crimson Desert will be mostly a single-player title you will still need internet access to finish the initial setup. Physical and digital owners of the game will need to connect to the internet at least once to finish setting the game up.
Once players are past that portion they’ll be free to play the game without needing a connection. Pearl Abyss also confirmed there will be a day-one patch upon release.
No Cross-Save Support
Sadly, there is also no cross-save support. Players will not be able to transfer their games between systems. So pick the system you want to play on and stick with it.
Release Date and Installation Size
Crimson Desert launches globally on March 19 at 3 PM PDT on the following platforms:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X/S
- Steam
The game will be available to pre-load starting March 17.
