Crimson Desert has been delayed again and this time around, it's a significant pushback. Korean press reports that Pearl Abyss' highly ambitious open-world action adventure will now launch sometime between April and June 2025, barring any additional hiccups.
That's a full-year delay for the game that was supposed to launch in the first half of 2024. Pearl Abyss are yet to officially announce the delay. In fact, the developer have been pretty silent about the release date for quite a while.
Officially, the game does not have a release date and the last time Pearl Abyss spoke about it, they said that Crimson Desert is coming in late 2023, which is obviously not happening anymore.
Pearl Abyss should probably work on improving their communication towards fans and that's something that the Korean press also mentions in the article. They specifically state that the development of Crimson Desert has now exceeded the normal cycle of standard AAA games, which is around six years and that Pearl Abyss should release an official statement regarding the delays.
"...the company needs to disclose the progress of development, the reason why additional time is needed, and the expected release time of the year-on-year base to investors in an official setting," it's written in the report.
Pearl Abyss will probably officially confirm the new tentative release window during their next financial report and hopefully, provide more details on the development of the game and launch platforms.
Crimson Desert is expected to launch on PC and console. For more about the game, check out the articles below:
