Developer Pearl Abyss announced recently that Crimson Desert had sold over 5 million copies across all platforms. The studio took to social media to celebrate the news and thank fans for continuing to support the game post-launch.

Just two weeks prior, the studio had revealed that the game had recently passed 4 million sales. Since launch, Crimson Desert has picked up speed very rapidly. 

This news also matches up with previous remarks from CEO Heo Jin-young who recently said he felt that hitting 5 million sales would be soon. Pearl Abyss credits some of their success to post-launch support. 

Crimson Desert has received several patches that add new features to the game and enhance the player’s experience with things like quality of life updates and additional skills.

The studio has revealed some information about what players can expect from Crimson Desert moving forward. They’ve confirmed boss rematches, as well as difficulty settings such as Easy, Normal, and Hard modes. 

The team is also looking to expand on late-game content to give players more to do.Pearl Abyss also stated that they are looking into bringing Crimson Desert to a future Nintendo console. 

However, there are some technical hurdles they will need to overcome in order to make that a reality. Still, it seems as though they want to port the game to as many platforms as possible down the line. Crimson Desert has the potential to be one of if not the biggest game of 2026.
