Apex Legends Season 31 could introduce a major Ring rework, with Respawn’s roadmap artwork hinting at changes to how Ring locations are determined.

Apex Legends players are hoping Season 31 will deliver changes to one of the battle royale’s longest-running mechanics. Though Respawn hasn’t shared any information about what the new Battle Royale feature will entail, there are some clues suggesting it could be a rework to the Ring.

Artwork in the official 2026 roadmap contains what appears to be Ring-themed imagery. As spotted by Apex Legends content creator HYPERMYST, the picture shows off what looks to be a character inside of the ringed structure.

Players believe this could mean Respawn is finally implementing a rework to the Ring. Developers have discussed changing how the Battle Royale game mode’s sphere of death works in the past, but those details have never been shown to players.

Season 31’s new Battle Royale feature hasn’t been described beyond “New Battle Royale Feature.” The artwork implies players may not need to worry about ending up on the wrong side of the ring come season 31.

Many fans are theorizing that since the image looks similar to the Ring, Season 31’s new feature will relate to it in some way. It makes sense as developers have mentioned adjusting how players can predict Ring locations.

Ring locations have always been random, but Respawn developers said they want to make it easier for players to understand where Rings will appear.

Art Director Kevin Graves said earlier this year that they want players to “feel good about where rings are going to go down.” He added that they didn’t want “people throwing their hands up because it just felt too weird where it lands.”

Apex Legends players still have a lot to look forward to in Season 31. Ranked is reportedly changing alongside a Legend rework, new Akimbo weapon, and more Wildcard events.
