2K and Gearbox Software have officially opened pre-orders for Borderlands 4, with the next big chapter in the looter-shooter series launching worldwide on September 12, 2025. As previously announced, the game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version coming later this year.
The game will feature three different editions with different bonuese and obviously prices. It's the standard within the industry, and nothing new really. The only thing changing is that now we have CEOs telling us that if we're real fans, we'll get the money to buy their games.
All Borderlands 4 Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses
Three editions of Borderlands 4 are available to pre-order, each offering different tiers of digital content:
Standard Edition – $69.99 Includes just the base game.
Deluxe Edition – $99.99 Includes the Bounty Pack Bundle: four post-launch DLCs with new missions, bosses, areas, four Vault Cards, extra vehicles, gear, and the Firehawk’s Fury Weapon Skin.
Super Deluxe Edition – $129.99 Packs in everything from the Deluxe, plus the Vault Hunter Pack (featuring two new Vault Hunters, story missions, and new map regions) and the Ornate Order Pack, with even more character customisation options.
Every pre-order also includes the Gilded Glory Pack, which features a Vault Hunter Skin, a Weapon Skin, and a shiny ECHO-4 Drone Skin.
Remember, if you're a real fan, you'll get the money to buy one of these. No pressure.
Post-Launch Content Plans
Gearbox has also confirmed that Borderlands 4 will receive extensive post-launch support, with both free and paid DLC on the way. These expansions will include new Vault Hunters, story content, side missions, enemies, and more areas of Kairos to explore. Details on each pack will be announced closer to launch.
About Borderlands 4
With Borderlands 4, Gearbox is aiming to evolve the series while staying true to its chaotic, loot-filled roots. It’s designed to be newcomer-friendly while still giving longtime fans a nostalgic hit of mayhem. Expect ridiculous weapons, over-the-top action, and a galaxy’s worth of explosions.
Whether you’re picking up the Standard or Super Deluxe Edition — or just debating how to "find the money" — Borderlands 4 is set to be one of the biggest launches of the year.
