Capcom have officially announced that Devil May Cry 5 has surpassed 10 million units sold worldwide. The milestone comes on the heels of the release of a new Devil May Cry animated series on Netflix, which debuted on April 3, 2025.
As part of Capcom’s "Single Content Multiple Usage" strategy, the adaptation has already gained significant traction, earning over 5.3 million views in its first week and reaching the top 10 on Netflix Japan for seven consecutive days. It also ranked fourth globally in the English-language shows category during its debut week.
Devil May Cry series reach 33 million units sold
The broader Devil May Cry series has now sold over 33 million units since the original game launched in 2001. Alongside games, the franchise continues to expand into other forms of media, including animation and merchandise, helping to grow its audience beyond core gaming, say Capcom, which suggests they have big plans for the franchise's future.
Capcom have once again reiterated their commitment to developing high-quality titles and leveraging its popular franchises across different platforms and formats to reach a global audience. The publisher has been on a roll lately with critically acclaimed releases like Monster Hunter Wilds, Dragon's Dogma 2 and have a slate of exciting upcoming titles like Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata.
