Six years in the making, Borderlands 4 is finally almost ready to go. Just recently, Gearbox Entertainment announced that the long-awaited looter shooter will arrive on September 11, 2025, at 9 AM PT worldwide.
That means 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST, with folks in Singapore, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand getting access to Borderlands 4 on September 12 at their local times.
What to Expect in Borderlands 4
A new chapter is being told with four Vault Hunters traversing the planet of Kairos to face the Timekeeper. They will be the prevailing force that stands in the way of Kairos’ future.

Borderlands 4 features:
- Main story missions you can play in any order
- Numerous optional activities
- Wide ranging looting systems and progression
End-Game Content and Post-Launch Plans
The fun does not end after the main story, with Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode returning and adding:
- Player specializations
- A new set of bonuses called Firmware
- End game encounters
Gearbox has also hinted at more content to come following launch, making Borderlands 4 to have long term replayability.
Platforms and Switch 2 Release Date
Borderlands 4 is launching day one on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. However, Nintendo Switch 2 users will have to wait till October 3, 2025 to play the looter shooter.
