Take-Two confirms Borderlands 4 release window

Take-Two Interactive has announced that Borderlands 4 will be released in 2025, earlier than previously expected.

Take-Two Interactive recently shared new information about Gearbox Software and 2K Games' Borderlands 4, stating that its long-awaited title will arrive in 2025. Previously, its launch window was scheduled before April 2026, but a new update confirms that it will arrive in the current year.

Although a specific date hasn't yet been announced, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed that information will soon follow.

In an interview with Variety, he stated, "You will have a date soon, and then all will become clear." That would appear to mean that a date will be announced with new in-game footage in a matter of months.

Alongside Borderlands 4, Take-Two also reaffirmed that Mafia: The Old Country, which is being developed by Hangar 13, is set to launch in summer 2025.

As for Borderlands 4, development is under way for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Players will explore a new planet, Kairos, one of the most dangerous but most expansive and exploorable worlds in the series.

Players will have four new Vault Hunters to choose between, with each having individual skill sets. The title will include local split-screen co-op, with friends being able to join together offline.

With more information in store, not long will go by before a real release date will be confirmed.
