Bloodborne Remaster was in development for PC and PlayStation 5 at one point several years ago, says reliable games journalist and former Kinda Funny Podcast host Imran Khan.
Unfortunately, it's highly likely that the project was halted at some point during development since Khan has not heard anything about the game in many years. Khan's post on ResetEra implies that fans should simply forget about it as it probably won't be happening.
"Bloodborne PC/PS5 was at one point in the works. Haven't heard anything in literal years so I wouldn't hold my breath, but Lance [Lance Mcdonald, Bloodborne modder who also said remaster is real] was correct there," Khan wrote in his post in ResetEra.
It's worth noting that Khan is not saying that Bloodborne Remaster does not exist anymore with absolute certainty. Obviously, there's always the possibility that the game is in development in some form and that Sony perhaps dealt with the leaks internally hence the radio silence from the sources.
But on the other hand, if Bloodborne Remaster was real, we would have probably heard about it by now. Given how the development reportedly started years ago, the game would have been revealed at some point as remasters usually don't take years to complete, especially those simple ones that only add a 60 FPS mode and higher resolution.
In addition, Imran Khan has a pretty reliable track record so we don't have a reason to doubt him on this one. He accurately predicted that a new Silent Hill game was in development for PlayStation 5 among other things that turned out to be true.
Bloodborne Remaster is certainly one of those projects that would make too much sense for Sony and PlayStation. The demand is certainly there from both PlayStation 5 and PC players but whether or not we ever get to play the definitive edition of this masterpiece or not, well that's totally up to the developer and publisher.
Bloodborne is currently available only on PlayStation 4. The game is playable in 30 FPS although some unofficial mods have the game running at 60 FPS.
