Polish studio Bloober Team has revealed that its remake of the original Silent Hill is now in full production, following the recent official confirmation that the 1999 survival horror classic is officially coming back. The update came during a recent earnings report, where Bloober’s management outlined its current roadmap.
According to the studio, one of its two in-house production teams is fully dedicated to the Silent Hill 1 remake, while the other is already engaged on a separate, unannounced project. In addition, Bloober is supporting five second-party projects through publishing and collaboration.
The remake is still in early production and does not yet have an official trailer or a release date. Much like Silent Hill 2, which Bloober released to strong commercial success, the project is expected to modernise the original with overhauled visuals, updated controls, and other quality-of-life improvements while staying faithful to the eerie atmosphere and psychological horror the series is known for.
Fans shouldn’t expect to play the remake anytime soon, though. With production just beginning, it may be a while before Konami and Bloober are ready to show the game. Still, given the studio’s track record and the impact of its Silent Hill 2 remake, anticipation is already building for a return to the franchise’s haunting origins.
