One of the main modes of transportation in Tchia is the raft, and sailing it is not as easy as it seems. To steer it properly, you will have to work a little harder. In this guide, we will show you how to do it.
Tchia has very sophisticated sailing mechanics for an indie game, which can be quite confusing at times. Given that Tchia's plot takes place on a tropical island, one of our heroine's primary modes of transportation will be a raft, which she will use to travel long distances between the islands.
Because the fast-travel mechanics are directly connected to the raft, you will spend a lot of time at sea, discovering new ports and collectables or simply scratching your sea legs for fun.
When the game first introduces you to the raft, some of the mechanics can be quite confusing, but once you master them, the sailing is truly enjoyable. So, without further ado, let's teach you how to properly sail your raft.
How to properly sail a raft in Tchia
The raft will have three main parts: the sail, the helm, and the anchor. Once you jump on the raft, the first thing you want to do is decide the sailing direction and then grab the helm and steer the raft in that direction. When the direction is set, press the square button on your controller to let go of the helm and grab the sail using the same button. Now, increase the sailing speed by pushing the left analog stick up until you reach the desired speed.
Make sure to do it quickly since your raft will start moving forward as soon as you begin to increase the speed. Push the square button again and quickly return to the helm to steer your raft and enjoy the sailing. Keep in mind that you cannot change the speed while holding the helm. To change the speed, you will have to let go of the helm and interact with the sail.

When you decide to stop, steer the raft towards the desired location and grab the sail. As you approach the destination, slowly start to decrease the speed until you reach the place where you want to park the raft. Park simply by throwing the anchor into the sea. You will always be able to summon your raft at any port, where you can customize it and fast-travel to any previously discovered port.
