It was recently announced that Activision will be working on another sub franchise within the Call of Duty series. During a recent interview for The Game Business with Tyler Bahl, head of marketing for Activision, he mentioned that they have begun to start on this new series.
Since Modern Warfare 4 is still being made there isn't much they can say at the moment. This means Activision wants to create more series other than just Modern Warfare and Black Ops.
New Call Of Duty Series Announced By Activision
Bahl went on to say that Activision will start developing a new sub franchise instead of making another single title. Activision stated that they want Modern Warfare 4 to fix what they feel that people didn't like about the last game. No information has been released about the name or location of this new title.
All we know is that Activision will be making another sub franchise for the call of duty series. How different it will be from past games is still unknown.
This game was rumoured to take place in the current time period. It would not include the use of jet packs like we have seen in previous titles. They also stated that martial arts may be included as well.
Activision will continue to focus on Modern Warfare 4. There hasn't been any word on when they will announce their new sub franchise or if it will be related to any previous story line. Hopefully we hear more about this in the near future.
