Hollow Knight: Silksong, the newest Souls-like from Team Cherry, has all the common mechanics characteristic of those games, like resting places, losing XP or currency upon dying, and, of course, rage-inducing difficulty. Also, the interconnected level design in which the fast-travelling mechanic is simply an obligatory feature.
Fast-travelling in this game, however, isn't as simple as in common Souls-likes, where you sit on a bonfire and choose the fast travel option; here, you must first beat a certain boss and then find special places from which you can fast travel between levels.
If you're wondering how to do that, we've prepared a guide that will explain this mechanic thoroughly and show you how to first unlock fast travelling and then how to find a spot in each level from which you'll be able to traverse easily between levels.
How to fast travel in Hollow Knight: Silksong
The fast-travelling feature can be unlocked inside the game's second area, The Marrow, or more specifically, after you beat the boss of this area, Bell Beast. If you're having difficulties with this boss, see our guide on how to beat him without too much trouble.
Once Bell Beast is down, the first fast travel spot will unlock in the arena where you fought the boss, and you'll be able to return to the Bone Bottom area only, because it is the only place discovered for now and the only place you can return to at the given moment.
Once you unlock new areas of the game, each area will have a fast travel point, but unlocking them will require a bit more effort than was the case with the first one. First, you'll have to own a required number of rosaries (in-game currency), and second, you'll have to find the spot on your own.
The game will help you find them by putting up signs with the fast-travelling icon and the arrow pointing to the direction of the spot. Just follow the direction, and once you reach it, unlock it by inserting the required number of rosaries. Once you do it, the 'call' sign will appear, and if you press it, Bell Beast (friendly this time) will appear and let you ride on her back to any location that is unlocked.
