Phantom Blade Zero launches on PlayStation 5 and PC on 29 October 2026, and if you are planning to download it digitally, you will want to start freeing up storage space now. PlayStation Game Size, the reliable account that tracks Sony’s PlayStation Network database, has revealed that the game weighs in at 134.857 GB, placing it among the largest day-one downloads of the current generation.
Pre-loading begins on October 27, two days before the official release, which lands at 2 AM GMT on October 29. Given the file size, taking advantage of the preload window is strongly advisable for anyone on a slower connection. The Standard Edition is confirmed at $59.99, a price S-GAME committed to early in the game’s marketing cycle as a deliberate push against the industry’s creeping move toward $70 and $80 pricing for new releases.
The large file size is not entirely surprising given the scope of the game. Phantom Blade Zero is built on Unreal Engine 5 and features a substantial open world set in the Phantom World, a dark fantasy take on ancient China shaped by wuxia martial arts tradition.
Players control Soul, an elite assassin framed for the murder of his organisation’s patriarch and left with a ruined heart that gives him 66 days to live. The game features over 30 main hand weapons and more than 20 Phantom Edge off-hand weapons, eight possible story endings depending on side quest choices, and a New Game Plus mode unlocked after completing a full playthrough. It is a timed PS5 console exclusive, with an Xbox version expected at a later date.
