Healing mechanics in Spirit of the North 2 are a bit unusual, and not just that, everything in this game is mysterious too. Spirit of the North 2 won't tell you a thing about its gameplay mechanics; if you want to find out anything, you're going to have to figure that out on your own.
Healing mechanics are not an exception, so if you receive damage in this game, you'll have to find a way to heal your wounds, and if you don't, well, short is the life of a careless fox.
If you're receiving damage from falling or any other hazards and don't know how to replenish your health, we have a guide that will explain everything regarding this in-game mechanic.
How to heal in Spirit of the North 2
There are two ways of healing in Spirit of the North 2. The first way you've probably figured out already, and it will happen automatically once you approach the respawn point; no matter how low your health is, once you're close to a respawn point, it will recharge.
However, respawn points are not everywhere in the game, so if you find yourself in the middle of a level and don't want to lose hard-earned crystals if you die, you're going to have to find out how to heal in an alternative way.
All over the levels, you'll spot some sort of yellow moths gathering around some objects. If you approach those moths, the fox will catch one and eat it. One moth replenishes one health segment; the only problem is that once you catch one, the others will run away.
If you need to replenish more than one health segment, observe where they're running away, and after you see their new location, go there and eat one more. Repeat the process until the fox is fully healed.
