The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered, the latest RPG from Bethesda Softworks, is a remaster of the original Oblivion from 2006 with modern graphics and modernised gameplay mechanics, with the game still keeping the same touch from the original game.
Being a true RPG, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered features a well-known mechanic for lighting up the dark spaces, since the game features a lot of dungeons and caves where this mechanic will be of utmost importance.
Of course, we are talking about torches. However, since the game doesn't explain how we should equip and light them, this feature might become a small mystery to anyone who doesn't pay attention to the beginner tutorials. If you don't know how to use a torch, we have a guide for you.
How to light up the torch in The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered
After killing the first couple of enemies in The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered, if you loot their bodies, you'll most certainly find a torch on one of their bodies, and a bit later in the tutorial section, one soldier will ask you to use a torch to light up the dark hallways you're escaping through.
To light up the torch, enter the inventory menu and press the A button on the controller once the torch is highlighted; this will equip the torch in your hands in case you decided to holster your weapon. Now, with the torch equipped, simply press the X button on the controller, and your character will, instead of holstering the weapon alone, holster the weapon and pull out the torch at the same time.
If you want to unequip the torch, enter the inventory menu again and press the A button once more; this will reverse the action. If you want, you can put the torch in one of your quick item slots. To do that, enter the inventory and press the LS button; this will bring up the quick item menu on the right side of the screen.
Choose the torch or any other item and put them in any slot and press A. Now, when in the game, hold the LB button, choose the torch, and release; this action will equip the torch as well.
