PC players report all sorts of issues with Overwatch 2. From crashing to desktop to constant freezing during matches. Here's what you can do to fix these issues.

Overwatch 2 is finally here but it's been a rock launch for Blizzard's new arena shooter. Many players are reporting all sorts of issues with the game, including freezes, crashes, various error messages and more.

PC players seem to be suffering from constant crashing to the desktop and freezing during matches. Some are unable to even finish a single match, which is certainly frustrating.

The crashing and freezing issues seem to be almost exclusive to older graphics cards like Nvidia GTX 1050ti and GTX 660 so it's highly likely that this is a problem on Blizzard's end, who will need to patch it in order to make the game work as intended. But, there are a couple of potential solutions you can try until Blizzard fix the issues. Check them out below:

Potential fixes for Overwatch 2 crashing and freezing on PC:

  • Update your graphics card drivers (Clean install preferable)
  • Set the game priority to high (Task Manager > Details tab > Right click on Overwatch 2 and set high priority)
  • Close monitoring software like MSI Afterburner and Nvidia and AMD overlays
  • Scan and Repair the game via client
  • Reinstall the game

If none of these potential solutions work, you'll have to be patient and wait for the fix from Blizzard. It's a bummer of course but we're certain the devs have their hands full given how rocky the launch is so try to give them a break.

Overwatch 2 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
