Marathon - Data Reconstruction [3/3] Contract Guide

Data Reconstruction [3/3] is a Priority contract in Marathon with three objectives that must all be completed in a single run: hack two exterior data repositories at North or South Relay, download an AI maintenance protocol from the second floor of Hauler, and successfully exfil. The order is up to you, but read the full guide before you drop - both locations have their own quirks that can cost you dearly if you go in blind.

Objective 1: Hack Exterior Data Repositories - North Relay

Since the quest allows you to go to the South or North relay, you have the freedom to choose. For this guide, we'll head to North Relay in the north of the Perimeter map. You're looking for a massive green antenna-like structure - it towers over the surrounding area and is impossible to miss.

Your two data repositories are on the eastern and western sides of this structure. Once you're at the base, look for the grey block units mounted on the exterior. They're distinct enough that you won't walk past them. As you approach, you'll spot green blocks right beside the gray ones. Those are the ones we actually need.

Be mindful that North Relay isn't quiet. Clear the immediate area before committing to each hack to avoid getting caught mid-interaction, or be smart and do it like yours truly - using Assassin's stealth ability.

Objective 2: Download AI Maintenance Protocol - Hauler

Hauler is a large building, and easy to get turned around in if you enter from the wrong side. Approach from the western side, as marked on the map below, and you'll save yourself a lot of confusion navigating its interior.

Approach Hauler from the western side, using the ladder - entering from any other direction risks getting lost in the building's sizeable interior.

From the western entrance, climb the ladder and take the first door on the right, then follow the small hallway through. When you arrive in a large room with a yellow object in the centre, go left and up the stairs to the second floor.

Once in the large central room, go left and take the door up to the second floor - the target room is straight ahead.

The room you need has a distinctly red-lit atmosphere - you'll know immediately when you've found it. Head inside and interact with the terminal to download the AI maintenance protocol.

One important warning: Hauler is crawling with UESC robots. Clear as you go and don't rush into the target room without checking your flanks first - getting ambushed with a room full of robots is a fast way to end an otherwise clean run.

Objective 3: Exfil

With both objectives complete, all that's left is a successful exfil. Don't get complacent - you've put the work in, so play it safe on the way out. Avoid unnecessary engagements and make for the extraction point with whatever health and ammo you have left.
