It looks like we're getting a brand new Forza Horizon game in 2026. While Forza franchise was completely missing from Xbox's big showcase that aired recently, right at the end of the show, Microsoft Gaming head Phil Spencer revealed that next year is a massive one for Xbox for a couple of reasons and one of them is the next Forza game.
"I'm excited to share that [next year] players will get to celebrate 25 years of Xbox with a new Fable, the next Forza, Gears of War E-Day and return of the classic that's been with us since the beginning," Phil Spencer said.
Some would say that Spencer didn't namedrop Horizon series specifically and that's true but the chances for another Motorsport game next year are thinner than a sheet of paper. I can assure you, it's the new Horizon game that we're getting in 2026.
It's safe to say that it's been a long wait for the sixth game in the series. Forza Horizon games usually released every two to three years but the wait for the sixth game will be well over five years, it seems.
This suggest we could be getting a massive Forza Horizon game with many improvements and new features and not just a reskin with a different map. As always, rumours suggest Forza Horizon 6 will be set in Japan but none of that is officially announced just yet.
Speaking about the announcements, we could see Forza Horizon 6 reveal at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026. It's a long wait until then but I'm sure it will be well worth it.
2026 promises to be a massive year for Playground Games, the developer of Forza series. The studio have big action RPG Fable in development at the moment which is also coming next year.
