Playground Games has revealed how progression works in Forza Horizon 6, including Wristbands, Stamps, Horizon Play, and revamped Wheelspins.

Playground Games have posted a detailed look at progression in Forza Horizon 6, explaining how players will level up throughout the racing game when it launches later this year.

Playground said that progression was tuned to feel rewarding both individually and across multiplayer activities, with several different systems feeding into each other. Players will see the return of the well-known Wristband progression system as the main progression route through the Horizon Festival.

Meanwhile Stamps connect to discovery and exploration within Japan, while Horizon Play is an entirely separate progression track for players focused on online competition. Each of these systems are designed to reward players however they choose to play, be it racing or drifting in events, exploring the open world or playing online with friends.

Wristbands, Stamps, and Horizon Play Explained

Wristbands have made a comeback as the driving mechanic behind campaign progression. Unlock them by competing in races and various Horizon Festival challenges. As players progress they’ll unlock access to better competitions and stricter class restrictions.

Playground Games has confirmed that there are seven Wristbands. Upon obtaining the Gold Wristband players unlock Legend Island and the longest Goliath race to date.

Stamp progression returns with more emphasis placed on exploration and side activities around Japan. Earn Stamp progress through activities such as grabbing cars, snapping mural photographs, busting mascots, landmark hunting, or job completions like the new Raku-Raku food delivery task. Claiming Stamps also unlocks Barn Find Rumours as well as property opportunities, including a fully customisable estate located early on in the game.

Horizon Play acts as Forza Horizon 6’s multiplayer progression system. Play games of Eliminator, Hide & Seek, Touge Showdown, Spec Racing and engage in standard Racing or Drifting playlists. Earn Horizon Play XP as you level up to 100 and unlock badges. Players can earn some multiplayer progression that will carry over into Wristband progression.

Playground Games revealed that Wheelspins make a return in Forza Horizon 6. Though Wheelspins and Super Wheelspins will be more scarce and more rewarding than in previous Horizon titles.
