The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s big graphical overhaul will launch later this month, and players now have a good idea how much space they’ll need to install it.
CD Projekt RED community and social media manager Marcin Momot has revealed just how large of a download each version of the Remastered edition will be. On most platforms, you’re looking at needing about 45 GB of free space. However, the Switch 2 port is slightly larger.

- PC (Steam) – ~45 GB (Varies based on what language packs you have installed)
- PS5 – ~45 GB
- Xbox Series X|S – ~45 GB
- Nintendo Switch 2 – ~50 GB
On PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered will be distributed as a free update to players who already own the game. You’ll need to have the base game installed first before you can get the update.
On the Switch 2, however, it’s being distributed differently. Instead of acting as an update to the current game, it’s being installed as its own separate application.
When is The Witcher 3 Remastered Releasing?
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is releasing September 29, 2026.
Players will need to make sure they have about 45 GB of available space to download the update. Make sure to verify how much space you have before then. CD Projekt has said that the file size on PC can vary depending on what language packs are installed.
