The Coalition is one of the Xbox Game Studios that are yet to announce their next game but it's been rumoured for a while that Gears of War is their next project, which is somewhat expected as the studio have been strictly focusing on this popular franchise since Gears of War 4.
And judging by the recent hiring spree, the next Gears of War game is entering full production, which means we could be hearing about it soon. As spotted by X user Idle Sloth, The Coalition have just hired eight new developers, presumably to work on the next Gears of War.
Some of the developers who joined the team include Cinematic Animator Jose Antonio Ong, who previously worked on God of War: Ragnarok and Senior Lighting Artist Adriano Grasso from Ubisoft.
The group also consists of various artists, engineers and designers. The development team usually grow significantly during full production, which is the part of the video game development process when teams reach the maximum head count.
Given how The Coalition are hiring so many people on such short notice, it's safe to say that they are indeed already in full production of the next Gears of War or are about to enter this major stage.
Once the team is done with the production phase, they usually enter the testing phase where they take care of balancing gameplay mechanics and identify bugs and issues that are discovered by the testers.
All in all, we really hope to hear more about the game soon, potentially at the Xbox Games Showcase 2024, which would certainly be a perfect opportunity for a major reveal.
Gears of War 6 will probably launch on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
