The Coalition have officially unveiled their brand new Unreal Engine 5 tech demo named Alpha Point at GDC. The demo is a small glimpse of the studio's new game.
One of the most talented game developers from the Xbox Game Studios umbrella - The Coalition - are working on a brand new game, which will be developed on Unreal Engine 5, Epic Games' latest iteration of the popular tool.
The Coalition recently confirmed they are switching to Unreal Engine 5 and at this year's Game Developers Conference (GDC), they decided to showcase the capabilities of the new engine but also the power of Xbox Series X.
The tech demo is called Alpha Point and The Coalition officially revealed it last night, though, it is yet to be uploaded online. We'll make sure to embed it here once it goes live.

The short demo was set in a desert area with crumbling ruins, which is a perfect showcase for 300,000 to 500,000 triangles that the devs used to build the assets for the demo. For comparison, the demo has 15 times the number of triangles in the average asset than 2019's Gears 5.
The Coalition stated that Unreal Engine 5 games will look truly spectacular on Xbox Series X, which certainly looks to be the case when you look at Hellblade 2, which is also UE 5 game, currently in development at Ninja Theory.
However, the team also stated that UE 5 game development is still in early phases so don't expect their new game anytime soon.
