Per the official online application on the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) website, Remedy Entertainment has submitted a request for the registration of a new trademark called 'FBC: Firebreak.' It is widely speculated that this trademark pertains to an upcoming game set within the universe of Control.
Namely, the newly revealed project is a cooperative shooter set in the Control universe, previously known as Project Condor. The application specifies its focus on computer gaming software, clothing, as well as audio, video, and multimedia production and photography.
While we cannot say for certain that the recent intellectual property (IP) is indeed Project Condor, the alignment of the name and the timing of the IP registration strongly suggest such a connection. Nonetheless, only time will tell if the accuracy of these claims is true.
What we know for sure is that 'Firebreak' is a unique zone within the Control universe, appearing as a massive gap that acts as a barrier against supernatural forces. The abbreviation FBC in the name refers to the Federal Bureau of Control, the primary organisation dealing with supernatural investigations. For those familiar with the Control world, connected to Alan Wake's universe, the significance of these elements is well known.
There's a possibility that Remedy Entertainment's registration of this intellectual property is tied to the forthcoming DLC for Alan Wake 2. Given the shared universe between these two games, this connection could exist. Nevertheless, it appears unlikely, and the prevailing indication suggests that Project Condor has received its official title.
