The Blood of Dawnwalker has a release date. Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco Entertainment confirmed September 3, 2026 during a Road to Launch showcase back in April, alongside a new story trailer, over ten minutes of open-world gameplay, and full PC system requirements. It is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam.
The game follows Coen, a young man turned into a Dawnwalker after a vampire attack, who spends the game navigating the tension between his human side and his growing vampiric nature. The setting is the Carpathian Mountains in an alternative 14th century, ravaged by the Black Death and dominated by a vampire lord named Brencis who has seized control of Vale Sangora.
Day and night function as two distinct gameplay states: during daylight, Coen fights with swords and can interact openly with NPCs and solve conflicts without violence; at night, his vampire abilities take over, unlocking a different set of powers and a different approach to the world. Rebel Wolves have described the game as having between 55 and 70 hours of content depending on playstyle, built on Unreal Engine 5.
The bigger surprise from the April showcase was a brief teaser about the saga's future. Studio head Konrad Tomaszkiewicz revealed that while the first game concludes Coen and Brencis' conflict without narrative cliffhangers, subsequent entries will follow Coen through entirely different eras, locations, and cultures.
The teaser hinted at a modern-day setting, which Tomaszkiewicz acknowledged would surprise people who expected the series to stay in medieval Europe. He was clear that each entry will be standalone with its own story, and that the overarching saga thread running through all of them will reward attentive players without being required to follow.
