Just when everyone thought that the superhero tease was just referring to jumping around with Hop Rocks, Epic rolled out the big reveal - Thanos, the villain from Avengers: Infinity War will soon be strutting his stuff in Fortnite.

The limited time crossover mode called the Infinity War begins tomorrow, 08 May 2018, and we're not talking about a mere skin here either. Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet means the guy can jump realities, so why not. Note however, that there's no reality where EA has a competent PR team, so everything other than that.

The Infinity Gauntlet will be there for the taking on Fortnite's map and anyone who picks it up will turn into Thanos himself. Yes, all his powers included, making it a joint interest for players to take him down and hopefully, be the first one to pick up the Gauntlet again. Rinse, repeat until there's one man left standing, so that part is still the Fortnite we know and love.

It just so turns out that Fortnite's stellar popularity hasn't been wasted on Marvel and the Avengers, as the movie's co-directors Joe and Anthony Russo apparently used their spare time while editing the movie to play Fortnite. So, an idea was born and all that was left to do is to see whether Epic thinks the same.

Fortnite's Donald Mustard turned out to be Marvel's man in Epic and apparently, after a few hours of brainstorming, they had the idea down. Mustard added that it was an "awesome idea for a limited time gameplay mode" and anyone would be hard pressed to disagree.

Ultimately, it turns out that Epic haven't been pulling our leg when they teased their superhero flavoured Season 4, even if it did seem to lean towards DC's superheroes.

Nevertheless, sneaky Epic continue their sneakiness in the most welcome of manners and we're sure we're not the only ones eagerly awaiting to put a few shells in Thanos. Naturally, this makes us wonder what's the next surprise in store for Fortnite: Battle Royale because we're sure Epic's already got it.

Epic's Fortnite: Battle Royale strikes a perfect balance between realism and fun, despite the somewhat casual feel. Whatever your flavour is, the game's got it. Shooting? Building? More shooting? Boogie Bombs? What would you need kind sir?
