Rare rolled out a hefty new update for their swashbuckling adventure Sea of Thieves and there's quite a bit to sift through. Dubbed The Seabound Soul, the update adds new Tall Tale, a new projectile weapon, fresh cosmetics and more.
"Many pirates have come across the wreck of the Blackwyche, ship of the legendary Sir Arthur Pendragon, out on Shipwreck Bay. However, now pirates are reporting sightings of the man himself, returned from beyond the veil for some perilous purpose", Rare wrote.
To start The Seabound Soul Tall Tale, which is a permanent addition to the game, players need to find the Blackwyche at Shipwreck Bay and the ghost of Pendragon himself. As Rare kindly advised, help the man but don't lose your head, where the last part is both figurative and literal.
Sea of Thieves players now have access to firebombs, allowing them to shower their enemies with flames. Moreover, you can chuck them by hand as well, so you may want to keep a bucket of water with you for times when you're the unlucky recipient.
Rare threw in five Ashen Tomes that can be found in Ashen Chests. "It’s possible to find Ashen Chests aboard Skeleton Ships, but most remain under the protection of Ashen Guardians. Only Pirate Legends can claim a dangerous Ashen Chest Voyage from Jim, so those who haven’t yet attained such rank must work alongside a Legend… or steal from one", they said.
As usual, there's a ton of added cosmetics and emotes, new pets and outfits for them, along with Thanksgiving-themed instruments and pet outfits. Sea of Thieves' Arena enthusiasts can now customise parts of their ships and they've got some new cosmetics to brawl over.
