Rare have finally announced the date when the Sea of Thieves spills over onto Steam, and it won't be long as the swashbuckling adventure launches on June 3, 2020.
"Whether it's with a friendly wave of your hook or a cordial cannonball barrage, get ready to welcome countless fresh crews and new legends - Sea of Thieves is coming to Steam on June 3rd", Rare wrote in the description.
If you somehow missed out on all the Sea of Thieves-ness along the way, the trailer is most definitely a good start. Now, one and a half minutes is nowhere near enough to show everything the game offers, but it's sure close enough.
Dubbed The New Legends, the trailer takes prospective players on a journey through the treacherous seas of Sea of Thieves. You'll see Skeleton Forts and a whole bunch of skeletons, player battles on land and sea alike, friendly little Megalodon that makes Jaws look like child's play and a bunch more. We're kidding by the way - do not try to befriend them - they're not very social.
Now, the timing couldn't have been better for Sea of Thieves' arrival on Steam, and not because of the pandemic, mind you. We're talking about content, as Rare were initially criticised for the lack thereof in-game, but you can bet your bottom dollar that Steam players won't see what the fuss is about, especially after having a go at Arena, Sea of Thieves' dedicated PvP battlegrounds.
Sea of Thieves comes with full cross-play, so you can play with Xbox One players, and your progress will carry over should you choose to switch.
