Riot confirms the return of Lethal Tempo to League of Legends with some changes

Riot Games has announced the return of Lethal Tempo, a popular keystone in League of Legends. It was removed during the 2024 Mid-Season update but is now making a comeback.

Riot Games has announced the return of Lethal Tempo, one of League of Legend's most popular keystones. It comes after its removal during the 2024 Mid-Season update, where many other big changes took place, including removing Predator keystone. Its removal was one that had left a dent, as it was considered amongst the in-game strongest keystones.

The reason it was so strong is because it allowed champions to grant stacking Attack Speed to champions. For melee champions, it granted them from 30% to 96% increased Attack Speed, depending on the level, and from 21.6% to 48% for ranged champions.

Generally, Attack Speed is a very good stat for most champions-it scales incredibly well into the later parts of games-which simply made Lethal Tempo too good.

Champions like Zeri, Varus, Yone, Kalista, Caitlyn and Kai'Sa were some of the most problematic ones with this keystone, as they got way too much power without actually having to spend gold for it.

Balance also wasn't achievable because Lethal Tempo always was one of the most important keystone picks in the Precision tree.

However, Riot has recently announced the return of Lethal Tempo with heavy changes. It was announced in a statement by Phroxzon, the Lead Gameplay Designer at Riot, stating the company wants to re-design the keystone to be just impactful but less game-breaking.

With the preseason of 2025 in view, more information for the reworked Lethal Tempo will follow soon. It will be balanced so champions can still retain an identity and strong points without leaning too heavily on the keystone.
