Many of the Runes being removed, such as Predator or Minion Dematerializer where not used frequently. For example, Rengar and Rammus only mostly used Predator, while Syndra and Twisted Fate where good on the Minion Dematerialier Rune, which helped them farm more effectively against aggressive laners.

But, Lethal Tempo is a special case. Riot decided to remove the Rune because it lowers the need to build items that gives you attack speed, because the Rune itself provided stacking attack speed and range. Now, champions requiring attack speed will need to get it from purchasing items that provides it.

Moreover, some runes from the list above will be instantly replaced or placed under rework process and will get new names. In the end, these Rune removals and changes made by Riot Games will surely lead to a shift in Rune choice options moving forward.
