Riot Games has announced that the LCS of North America, the CBLOL of Brazil, and the Latin America league will be merged into one competitive region in 2025.

A great change is coming to the League of Legends competitive landscape in the Americas: Riot Games has officially announced that starting in 2025, it will be making the LCS of North America, the CBLOL of Brazil, and that of Latin America into one single competitive region.

The league now would then be divided into two conferences: one centered on the North American LCS called the Northern Conference, and one mostly of CBLOL, called the Southern Conference, which are merged during playoffs to find one undisputed American champion.

Next to the changes to the main league, Riot Games want to change the scenery of the Tier 2 scene across the Americas. This will include changing the setup into a promotion and relegation system in each conference.

Teams from the Tier 2 level will be competing for a slot in the top division, allowing new blood into the highest levels of competition. However, any promoted team will have to fight to keep its place in the major league in every season.

For 2025, the North Conference goes back to six LCS teams from the current levels when it lost two slots. Other team representatives will come from one team representing the LLA and a representative of Tier 2.

The South Conference will be shrunk to six CBLOL teams, with the remaining spots taken from an LLA team and a Tier 2 participant. And after competing in their respective conferences, teams will fight cross-conference for the playoffs to determine the American champion.

That means the winner of the first split will go on to represent their region at the newly announced international tournament. The top team from each conference then represents the team at the Mid-Season Invitational after the second split.

This last split will be concluded by the "Americas Regional Championship," which will determine three representatives from the region for Worlds, with at least one representative from each conference guaranteed.
