Respawn Entertainment have responded to recent rumours which suggested that the Titanfall franchise won't be coming back anytime soon. "Who knows what the future holds," Respawn tweeted.

Titanfall 2 is one of my favourite shooters on the last generation of consoles and just like many fans of the franchise, I am disappointed with the lack of news regarding a potential sequel or a reboot for the series.

Now that Respawn Entertainment are busy with Apex Legends, which is their new thing set in the Titanfall universe, the chances that there might be another Titanfall game are very slim but we are still hopeful that one day, Respawn bring the franchise back in style.

A rumour, which was started after Respawn community coordinator Jason Garza suggested that Respawn will not be working on a Titanfall game anytime soon, was a major disappointment for the community but the studio were quick to offer a statement via their Twitter, clarifying a couple of things.

Respawn tweet implies that Titanfall is very dear to them and that another game might be coming in the future. "Contrary to what some folks are reporting, Titanfall is the very core of our DNA. Who knows what the future holds," they tweeted.

We would not get our hopes up after a small tweet but it's good to know that Respawn have not forgotten this iconic franchise which still has a close following. Whether Respawn and EA actually decide to make another TItanfall game, that's a big question that will probably be unanswered for a long time.

EA have Battlefield 2042 coming up, Apex Legends is also doing great and honestly, it doesn't seem like there is much space on the market for another shooter.
