PUBG Studios’ tactical shooter PUBG: Blindspot launches free Early Access on February 5, 2026. Here’s how to play, what’s available at launch, and what Early Access includes.

Battle royale publisher PUBG Studios has announced PUBG: Blindspot, a competitive top-down shooter formerly referred to as Project Arc.

Announced earlier this month with an Early Access release date, PUBG: Blindspot is described as a 5v5 tactical shooter that focuses more on positioning yourself, playing to your class’ strengths, and map control.

Expected to launch into Early Access later this year at no cost to play, PUBG: Blindspot represents one of PUBG Studios’ biggest departures from their bread and butter.

When PUBG: Blindspot early access begins

PUBG: Blindspot launches Early Access on February 5, 2026. You can play PUBG: Blindspot for free at launch - no game purchase or founder’s pack is required.

Here’s how you can play at launch:

  • Download PUBG: Blindspot on Steam
  • Players do not need to pre-register or pay to access the game at launch.
  • Approximately 8 GB of disk space will be required

Players will be able to hop into online PvP immediately at launch with no onboarding restrictions.

What to expect from Early Access

The first Early Access build will lay the groundwork for PUBG: Blindspot‘s competitive multiplayer focus and road map for iteration. Here’s what players can look forward to at launch:

  • 5v5 team-based matches played online
  • Multiple playable heroes with unique roles
  • Hero progression and unlock systems
  • Regular balance patches and performance updates
  • Fast-paced gameplay that rewards strategic positioning, line of sight control, and team coordination.

This will all come together to create a feel unique from other PUBG experiences.

Release and development plans

While there is no announced release date for PUBG: Blindspot yet, PUBG Studios does not plan on locking itself into a date for when the game will leave Early Access.

Instead, the length of Early Access will be determined by:

  • Community feedback
  • Balancing for competitiveness
  • Completing features

The team wants to ensure they are listening to player feedback and truly making the game you want to see before it leaves Early Access.
