PUBG Studios, a team behind the popular game PUBG: Battlegrounds, are going to widen their borders with a new project called Project ARC, a competitive 5v5 shooter that's currently in development for PC.
This new game is not looking to repeat the same level of success that PUBG had but is instead an experimental shooter that adds new features and gameplay to the mainstream.
What makes Project ARC different is the isometric, top-down camera of the game-something different from the usual first or third-person perspective.
A new perspective opens up a new type of challenge to the player, who is supposed to get fully used to quite a different kind of spatial awareness in-game. The action will be fast and realistic, with active use of an arsenal of modern weapons, and combat is supposed to feel intense and real.
Unlike large open-world maps, Project ARC takes place in tight indoor environments. The gameplay features a heavy dose of tactical positioning and cooperative maneuvers rather than just shooting skills, necessitating players to employ tactical comms and zone control to thrive on the battlefield.
This is done in hopes of keeping the teamwork mentality going, relying on players for subtle non-verbal cues that add complexity to depth in every match.
While Project ARC may not be looking to unite and become the battle royale behemoth akin to PUBG: Battlegrounds, it does symbolize a continued effort by PUBG Studios concerning innovation in new ways around the shooter genre and introducing something new for fans everywhere in multiplayer gameplay.
