As anticipation builds, players can look forward to experiencing an early demo of Project: L at EVO 2023.

Riot Games has recently unveiled the latest Project: L development log, providing insights into its team play system. Project: L, a 2v2 tag-fighter set in the League of Legends universe, has been eagerly anticipated by fans and promises to offer an exhilarating gaming experience.

The team play system in Project: L allows players to team up with friends for intense 2v2 battles. Each match will feature a total of four players, with two players forming a team. Each player will select one champion to control during the fight.

Similar to other tag-based fighting games, only one player from each team can actively participate at a time. The other player can step in if the first player is knocked out or performs a tag. However, if the assisting player performs an assist move, the assisted player will regain control only when the main player initiates a tag.

Dynamic 2v2 Battles

Each player will select a champion to wield in battle. Similar to other tag-based fighting games, only one player from each team can actively fight at a time. The other player can step in when the first player is K.O.'ed or initiates a tag. However, if the assisting player provides support, the assisted player won't have control unless the main player tags back in.

Classic 1v1 Showdowns

In the traditional 1v1 mode, two players will compete head-to-head with each controlling two separate champions. Players can execute tags to swap between their chosen champions, retaining full control over the gameplay. This mode will likely become the staple choice for Project: L players, reflecting the prevailing trend in the Fighting Game Community (FGC).

Thrilling 2v1 Matchups

For groups of three friends eager to team up, Project: L offers the exciting 2v1 mode. Combining elements of both 2v2 and 1v1, this configuration will see two players on one team, strategically selecting their desired champions. On the opposing team, a lone player will have the power to pick two separate champions, providing them with ample opportunities to maneuver and control the match.
