The mid-season patch of League of Legends season 13 brought significant changes to the game, particularly in terms of itemization. With the introduction of hybrid items like Guinsoo's Rageblade and items with AP ratios like Statikk Shiv, the game's meta saw a dramatic shift.
Champions with strong AP and AD scaling, such as Kai'Sa, Kayle, Varus, and Kog'Maw, emerged as dominant forces. Some of them even found success in unconventional roles, like Kai'Sa being picked in the top lane due to her versatility.
However, as the balance team continued to monitor the situation, Riot decided to address the dominance of hybrid champions.
AP Kai'Sa receives a nerf
It was confirmed that Kai'Sa, particularly her AP synergy, will receive a nerf in the upcoming Patch 13.15. Details about the specific changes have not been revealed yet, given that nearly all of Kai'Sa's kit features AP ratios. Nevertheless, players can expect these nerfs to have a significant impact on her performance.
Additional changes to Statikk Shiv and Night Harvester
n addition to the AP Kai'Sa nerf, Riot also plans to modify the synergy between Statikk Shiv and Night Harvester, requiring an ability hit to trigger the effect. This change is aimed at the champion LeBlanc.
While Riot continues to monitor Statikk Shiv's performance, they believe the item is appropriate for most users, including champions like Quinn, Zeri, Sivir, Vayne, and more.
