Ndemic Creations announced their support in the fight against Coronavirus through a hefty donation as well as the development of a new game mode for Plague Inc, which will let the players save the world instead of infecting its entirety.

Ndemic Creations already explained that Plague Inc shouldn't be used as a scientific model and that there are better sources for learning about Coronavirus spread prevention and treatment but the developers are not stopping there.

They have also donated $250,000 which will be split between Coalition of Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) and the World Health Organisation's COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. Furthermore, they have called for the fans of the game to support the efforts against the spread of Coronavirus themselves.

However, this is not the end of Ndemic's ways of participating in the battle against the pandemic. People apparently kept asking about a new game mode where the player could work to stop an outbreak and the developers have obliged but it will still be some time until this mode arrives, due to development time needed.

They did note that the work on the new Plague Inc mode will be accelerated. Players will have to "balance managing the disease progression and boosting healthcare systems as well as controlling real-world actions such as triaging, quarantining, social distancing and closing of public services" in this new game mode.

Ndemic will not just shoot in the dark here as they are developing the new game mode with the help of experts from the WHO, Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network and more.

This new game mode will come with a free update for all players during the pandemic but that's all the info that's available for the moment. The developers noted they will update the fans with progress notes as the time goes on.
