Lords of the Fallen will launch with DLSS 3 and FSR 2, Hexworks confirm
Hexworks' upcoming RPG Lords of the Fallen will certainly be a proper eye candy on PC
Hexworks' upcoming RPG Lords of the Fallen will certainly be a proper eye candy on PC

Highly-anticipated souls like action RPG Lords of the Fallen will launch with both Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR, developer Hexworks confirmed in the latest Reddit AMA.

If you followed Lords of the Fallen closely over the last couple of months, you probably know that this action RPG from developer Hexworks is shaping up to be one of the best-looking games of 2023 thanks to stunning art style and tech like Nanite and Lumen.

Such graphical fidelity will certainly require powerful hardware to push the game above 60 FPS at decent visual settings and resolutions but luckily, the devs have confirmed that even those who have somewhat weaker hardware will be able to enjoy the game thanks to AMD FSR 2.2 which works on pretty much all modern graphics cards and Nvidia DLSS 3.1, which is exclusive to Nvidia RTX 4000 series.

When asked about FSR and DLSS implementation in the game and which versions players can expect to see, Hexworks replied that they are targeting the latest versions for launch but are currently testing DLSS 3.1.30b and FSR 2.2.

The latest version of DLSS is 3.5.0 while AMD FSR is at 2.2, meaning that the devs are seemingly using the latest version of this upscaling tech for Lords of the Fallen.

Obviously, it would be great if the game launched with the most recent builds of both tech and judging by the developers' comments, that will be the case. Let's just hope that the Hexworks team have enough time to polish both and have everything ready for launch.

Lords of The Fallen looks mighty impressive and that release date can't come soon enough
Lords of The Fallen is one of the best looking games of 2023 so it's safe to assume it will require very powerful hardware to run at 60 FPS on PC

We've seen many games launch in terrible states and simply slap the DLSS/FSR label in the settings to solve the optimisation problems. This is far from the ideal scenario as PC players certainly want these upscalers to give them more performance on top of the stable 60 FPS that should come as a result of great optimisation.

Lords of the Fallen is officially launching on Friday, October 13, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. For more news about this souls-like title, check out the articles below:
