UPDATE: A CI Games spokesperson responded to our email but unfortunately did not clarify if Lords of the Fallen 2 is coming to Steam. They've highlighted that CI Games will retain all IP ownership, and will share more details on distribution and publishing in the future.
Here is their statement in full: "We're happy to have announced our partnership with Epic Games on the next major instalment of the Lords of the Fallen franchise, as per our obligations as a publicly listed company. We look forward to sharing more information about the game and partnership in due course."
Original article: Lords of the Fallen sequel has been officially confirmed by CI Games in a very underwhelming fashion. The sequel to one of my favourite action RPGs in years is in development for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S with a target release date of 2026.
But what's the catch? Well, in addition to officially confirming the sequel, CI Games have also confirmed that they've struck a publishing deal with Epic Games, allowing Epic the exclusive global distribution of Lords of the Fallen 2 on PC, as per the document on bankier.pl.
"The Management Board of Cl Games SE with its registered office in Warsaw hereby announces that on 14 June 2024, the Company signed a binding term sheet with Epic Games to which the Company grants Epic the exclusive worldwide distribution rights to the sequel of the game Lords of the Fallen on the PC platform for the entire product life cycle," it's written in the official document.
From the document, it's pretty clear that Epic Games have the publishing rights for the game on PC, meaning that Lords of the Fallen 2 will probably end up being an Epic Games Store exclusive.

Lords of the Fallen (2023) launched on Steam with an all-time peak of 32,235 players, which isn't really impressive but it's worth noting that the game suffered from performance issues on launch, which is probably one of the reasons why PC players decided to wait for a price drop.
It's safe to assume that with the potential Epic Games Store exclusivity, Lords of the Fallen 2 could sell even fewer copies on PC than its predecessor given that the majority of PC players are loyal to Valve's storefront and often make it pretty clear that if the game does not come to Steam, they won't buy it.
We have asked CI Games if Lords of the Fallen 2 is still planned for a Steam release and will update this article if the publisher respond.
