A new patch for Lords of the Fallen is now live across all platforms and it brings some much-needed changes to gameplay, making the game easier in New Game+ and tweaking some annoying enemy behaviour.
More specifically, starting today, players will be able to start the next consecutive New Game+ (if you completed NG+1, you can start NG+2) or choose to replay the current New Game at the same difficulty. Additionally, Hexworks have made some major changes to how Vestiges work in New Game+.
So for example, New Game+1 will only see a few Vestiges disappear instead of all of them. New Game+2 will remove even more while New Game+3 will remove all Vestiges but the main one in the Skyrest Bridge HUB area. This update will go live on Thursday, 26, October, 2023.
The devs say that with this update, they will still retain their initial vision for New Game+ but also allow players to experience a more traditional New Game+ experience, akin to other soul-like games.
Players will also be happy to hear that a New Game+ modifier feature is in the works and will be coming by the end of the year. This feature will allow players to fully customise their New Game+ by removing vestiges or keeping them, activating permadeath, randomising enemies and items and much more.
The patch which is now live also brings tweaks to enemy density and how far they will pursue players from their spawn point, two things that annoyed many players.
Hexworks say that this helps prevent large crowds of enemies from relentlessly pursuing the player when rushing through a level.
