Players of League of Legends are going to have to wait a little bit longer for this much anticipated feature by Riot Games. Team Voice Chat will be delayed from launching with patch 26.20.
Team Voice was scheduled to begin it's rollout to North America and Oceania on patch 26.20. Riot has delayed it's launch after testing it and has given no new patch to release Team Voice.
Why is League of Legends Team Voice Delayed?
Riot Games let it's players know about this when Patch 26.19 released on September 22nd. The company stated that they have tested it enough and want Team Voice to meet the quality that it should be at.
They have not mentioned what they are having issues with and reiterated that Team Voice is still a top priority. Riot Games will continue to develop it.
Team Voice will build off the current League voice chat system. Players are only able to use voice chat if they queue up with friends in a premade group. They will be able to voice with all of there teammates once this feature is live.
What are we expecting from Team Voice?
When Riot Games introduced this feature early on in September they gave some of the changes that would benefit Team Voice.
Some changes that were brought up:
- Better Noise Cancellation
- Quicker connection times
- More stable voice-chat
- More Moderation options
- Honor System to talk
- Voice skins to change your voice
Riot Games will roll this out in certain areas where they feel they can provide this feature correctly. North America and Oceania will be the first areas to receive Team Voice. Once it's rolled out there they will see how it goes and expand to other areas.
When will Team Voice Chat be available?
At this time there is no new date for League of Legends Team Voice Chat to come out. It will not be coming on patch 26.20 like it was supposed to and we will have to wait until further notice. Until then you can use the old voice chat with your premade groups.
