With the monumental success of Arcane and a series of recent leaks, Arcane lovers and League of Legends players are looking forward to a really promising follow-up series titled Iron & Chains. Here's everything we know so far regarding the next chapter in Riot's hit series.
In 2021, Riot Games released Arcane, an animated series in the world of Runeterra, focusing on the cities of Piltover and Zaun. It followed popular League of Legends champions like Vi, Jinx, Caitlyn, Ekko, and Viktor, introducing new ones: Ambessa and Mel Medarda, who joined the champion roster of the game.
Arcane, the first season, instantly made its place by being highly critically acclaimed. It had the very rare 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and often has been regarded as one of the best adaptations made out of video games.
There have been many hints toward a Noxus-focused storyline across various League of Legends lore elements, from the 2025 season cinematic. Whatever the official details may be, rumours indicate that Iron & Chains will delve into new corners of Runeterra.
According to the leaks, Mel Medarda will be playing the lead role in this sequel. The great Noxian strategist Swain will probably also be playing an enormous role, even acting as a mentor to Mel in her battle against the Black Rose.
It will also be diving into Mordekaiser's history as the Immortal Bastion, along with the past of LeBlanc and Swain. Fans may finally get to see some of Mel's backstory, including her relationship with Ambessa Medarda, which will be brought up in Riot's upcoming book about Ambessa.
While the plot, as rumoured, may sound thrilling, remember that Riot hasn't confirmed any of this yet. Fans should look at these leaks with a grain of salt and wait for the official announcement.
Stay tuned for more updates on Iron & Chains as Riot reveals more about the highly anticipated sequel to Arcane.
