Riot is making some updates on the champion prices. Rather than being categorized as "new player-friendly" or "latest," the champions will now be classified according to their prices.
Riot has made significant changes to League of Legends since the start of Season 13. Among the balance updates, the jungle has seen several changes, including the recent alteration to jungle pets. Furthermore, there have been various champion updates, with more planned for Patch 13.4.
In addition to balance updates, Riot has also implemented several system-wide changes. For example, they added a new ping wheel, allowed gold to be gained through vision tracking, and introduced the ability to vote on objectives. Riot has also made updates to the toxicity system, such as making ranked summoner names anonymous and introducing a new ranked system.
All of these changes have been made in a relatively short period, and Riot shows no signs of slowing down. For example, champion prices are set to change soon in League of Legends, suggesting that players can expect even more updates in the future.
Price updates
League of Legends is going to be re-categorized based on the pricing of its champions. A new list of prices for League of Legends champions has been released.
- 450 BE / 260 RP – Champions that are for new players. Examples given are Malphite, Miss Fortune, and Yuumi
- 1350 BE / 585 RP – Champions that are more complex than the previous tier but are approachable for interested players. Examples given are Lucian, Sett, and Yasuo
- 3150 BE / 790 RP – Champions with a high learning curve or just difficult to play. Examples given are LeBlanc, Shaco, and Yorick
- 4444 BE / 880 RP – The Jhin tier
- 4800 BE / 880 RP – Most of the champions will have this price
- 6300 BE / 975 RP – Champions that have come out in the past two seasons. They will move to the previous tier when a new season starts
- 7800 BE / 975 RP – Champions that have come out in the past week
As part of the changes, Riot is planning to release new champion bundles for different roles across various tiers, which will be more economical than purchasing the champions separately. However, there will be some exceptions to the new pricing system, such as Ryze, who will still be priced at 4800 Blue Essence.
Riot has stated that the overall price of the champion catalog will be reduced under the new system. In total, players can expect to save 140606 Blue Essence and 14905 RP.
