Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan confirms that PC players will have to wait a couple of years to play PlayStation's first-party titles

CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment Jim Ryan has stated that PlayStation 5 exclusives will come to PC two or three years after PlayStation 5 debut.

If you're one of those PC players that are hoping to play Sony's first-party games on PC on the same day as PlayStation 5 players, well, we have some bad news. Sony Interactive Entertainment boss Jim Ryan has today pretty much confirmed that PlayStation Studios games will first launch on PlayStation 5 and then arrive on PC at a later date.

Ryan specifically mentioned two or three years as the time gap between the PlayStation 5 and PC release. Here's his exact quote from the Famitsu interview:

"I often have the opportunity to ask game fans for their opinions, and when I ask them about the time lag, they say that selling the PC version two or three years after the release of the PlayStation version is accepted favourably," Ryan said.

This is not the first time that PlayStation executives are mentioning the PC releases. We've heard before that Sony will continue to release PlayStation games on PC but they were always pretty adamant that their games will first launch on PlayStation consoles and only arrive on PC at a later date.

PlayStation The Last of Us series boosted the sales of The Last of Us Part II We're still waiting to hear about The Last of Us Part 2 PC port

Now, some of you may argue that it's really cheeky of PlayStation 5 users to say they don't want to share their exclusives with anyone for two to three years but that's the gaming industry nowadays. It's all about who has better exclusives and higher Metacritic scores for the never-ending list wars.
