Ghost of Yōtei will receive another substantial update this October with the launch of Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition.
Announced by Sucker Punch Productions today, the Complete Edition will include two hefty gameplay additions: a new story-focused expansion, as well as a brand-new roguelike inspired single-player combat mode.
Echoes of Sekigahara Adds a New Chapter
Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara is the narrative expansion that shifts between Atsu’s present day story and her time spent on the mainland. Atsu’s present-day storyline will have players discover a hidden valley that was previously ruled by Snake and his army of Vipers.
She’ll also encounter Nagato, a character who has history with her. Following this discovery, players will jump back in time to witness the events of Sekigahara, learning about an essential time in Atsu’s life before returning home to seek revenge. Echoes of Sekigahara will add new enemies, heavy weapons, armour sets, and dyes as well.
Most Wanted Introduces Roguelike Combat
Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted is Ghost of Yōtei’s new single-player combat survival mode. Players will accept bounties at the start of each run, earning various perks for each successful bounty and unlocking additional characters as you go.
Atsu will specialize in dual katana wielding combat while Oyuki utilizes the kusarigama and Nagato wields a yari. Most Wanted gives players incentive to continuously test their combat prowess and try out new character builds.
Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition will be available October 1st and serves as the ultimate edition of Ghost of Yōtei, about a year after the game’s initial launch. The Complete Edition includes the base game, Ghost of Yōtei Legends, and all of the Deluxe Edition content that released alongside the game.
Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Price
It’s unknown if players who already own Ghost of Yōtei will need to buy the Complete Edition, but Sucker Punch is selling an upgrade for $14.99 that includes both of the new expansions.
In addition to early access to the Sakai Armor for Atsu, players who preorder the game by September 30 will receive the armor on October 1. The armor cosmetic notably draws a stylistic inspiration from Jin Sakai’s armour in Ghost of Tsushima.

More Features Are Coming in the October Patch
While the paid content may be the marquee attractions of the October update, existing owners of Ghost of Yōtei will still receive a bevy of new features for free. One such quality-of-life change is Beauty of Yōtei, which essentially transforms Ghost of Yōtei into a screensaver. Players can leave generated environments from Ezo running in the background and utilize them as background for Photo Mode captures.
Other quality of life changes and additions include the option to retain your armour’s appearance but gain the stats of a different armour set, as well as a new high contrast accessibility option. There will also be some additional Unheard Words of Watanabe Mode music, New Game+ cosmetics, and trophies related to Most Wanted and Echoes of Sekigahara.
