Everstone Studio and NetEase Games have confirmed Heaven's Threshold, the second chapter of the Hidden Mountain expansion for Where Winds Meet, launches August 20 (UTC), and it's sending players well past the mountain city and up into the cliffs.

Up Into the Clouds
Picking up right after chapter one, players leave the mountain base and start climbing Heaven's Threshold itself. The area opens up gradually through a community building event called Cloudtop Ascent, so the whole playerbase is chipping away at it together.
The ancient craftspeople who built this place are arguing amongst themselves - keep their tech hidden from the world, or use it to help people. That's the drama running through this chapter's story content.
New Bosses, Dungeon and Campaign
The mechanical, steampunk-flavoured combat that Hidden Mountain built its identity on is back, just bigger. Players will get two new colossal world bosses to take on: Inkpincer Scorpion and Cloud-Seizing Serpent, both massive iron constructs built by the mountain's old inventors.
Both bosses were briefly fightable by some players right at Hidden Mountain's original launch, seemingly due to a bug, before the devs pulled them. Not everyone got that early window, so for most of the playerbase this is the first real shot at either fight.
There's also a new dungeon, Evershift Labyrinth, a multi-level underground maze packed with rotating gears and interlocking wooden joints. You'll be fighting off security constructs while also shifting the floor panels around to find your way out.
On the story side, players get a new campaign (Mirkvale), set in a valley that's been taken over by rogue blacksmiths. You team up with a kid to get the old waterwheels and machinery running again and figure out why the place went silent.
New Skills, a Haunted Temple, and Some Side Stuff
Two new Mystic Skills land with the chapter. Bursting Nine fires a nine-arrow volley to slow and lock down groups of enemies, while World to Sword turns extra healing power into flying energy blades.
For China's Ghost Festival, the update adds Reflection Temple, a solo survival mode set in a haunted mountain shrine. Players will need to follow strict rules and uncover hidden clues to escape.
There's also Chasing with Kite, a racing mode you can play solo or in multiplayer, and Pangolin Peddler, where you set up trade routes between remote villages for rare rewards.
